One Year, Non-Tenure Track Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor
Interdisciplinary General Education Teaching Position
Teach four undergraduate courses per semester, pursue faculty development efforts, and participate in the wider life of University Programs and the university as a whole. General education courses to be taught would include several of the following: an interdisciplinary diversity course, The American Experience; an interdisciplinary social problems course, American Dilemmas; interdisciplinary global education courses, History and Evolution of Global Processes and Contemporary World Issues; Rhetoric and Composition I and II; and the Capstone Course, which involves research and writing on critical social issues. The candidate will be expected to assist with program administration, such as serving as the faculty editor of a student journal published on a yearly basis. A renewal or multiple year contract may be considered.
MA required in a related discipline. PhD preferred.
Qualification and ability to teach three or more of the courses listed above.
Excellent university-level teaching evaluations in courses relevant to those to be taught in this position.
Program administration experience preferred.
Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required.
Dependent on expertise and experience.
