The School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness is now accepting applications for a non-tenure Exercise Physiology faculty position at the rank of Lecturer starting Fall Semester 2014.  This 9 month position is full-time term and will report to the Director of the School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness as part of the Exercise Physiology program area. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise testing and prescription for apparently healthy and clinical populations, cardiovascular assessments, resistance training, and other relevant courses as needed within the Exercise Physiology program area. He or she will work collaboratively with the University and Community programs to promote student learning. The candidate will advise majors, assist in placement and supervision of interns, and serve on school, college, and university committees. Preferred candidate would contribute to the climate of diversity in the College.

Ohio University is a doctoral/research intensive state university with 21,000 students on its picturesque Athens campus and another 8,500 students on five regional campuses. The School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness is one of four schools in the College of Health Sciences and Professions (http://www.ohio.edu/chsp/ahsw/). The school includes approximately 20 full- and part-time faculty and staff and 900 undergraduate and graduate students. It offers a total of four undergraduate and four graduate programs. Currently, the School has approximately 200 Athletic Training, 450 Exercise Physiology, and 225 Nutrition students


  1. Earned masters in Exercise Physiology or related field by time of application
  2. Evidence of successful teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate courses
  3. Professional work experience in the field of exercise science or exercise physiology; possession of associated credentials (e.g., ACSM, NSCA certifications) is preferred
  4. Commitment to quality undergraduate and graduate education
  5. Commitment to active learning and use of technology in the learning process
  6. Commitment to involvement in professional organizations

Starting Date August 15, 2014

Salary and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
