Job Summary
Reporting to the Sheldon B. Lubar Dean at the Lubar College of Business, this professional serves as a senior administrator and advisor to executive leadership for strategic planning, operations, and business engagement, working collaboratively with leadership to effectively implement and manage priorities. As the College's communications officer, the individual is also responsible for external and internal communications and oversees the College's marketing and events functions. The Director will have high visibility across organizational lines and interacts on all levels of the university, working with administrations, faculty, and staff. The Director has supervisory responsibility for two positions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or relevant field
  • Five (5) years of progressive work experience in administration, communications, operations, or strategic planning to include supervisory and leadership experience
  • High degree of judgement, resourcefulness, and flexibility
  • Strong skillset including management, leadership, communications, and marketing
  • Proficiency in communications and writing
  • Strong knowledge of current local, state, and national events as well as the political and business climate


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or related advanced degree
  • Directly related experience working in a public university setting
  • Seven (7) years of experience in administration, communications, operations, or strategic planning
  • Proven track record of collaboration and advancing initiatives across all levels of an organization
  • Experience using WordPress or other web editing software
