Job Summary The Director of Student Life and Leadership provides overall leadership and management of the Office of Student Life and Leadership, including staff supervision, budget management, and the development and assessment of co-curricular programs and services designed to advance student success. Reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, the position is responsible for providing leadership and administration of major program areas in Greek life, student organizations, club sports, volunteer programs, student leadership programs and campus activities. The Director has decision making authority in these areas and is required to use sound, independent judgment in the development and review of student life policies. Works collaboratively with a wide variety of administrative and academic departments across the university community to promote programs which complement the students' academic experience and promotes engagement in high impact practices. Represents the Office of Student Life & Leadership within the Student Engagement cluster, within the Division of Student Affairs and across the campus community. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in an area related to Student Affairs, Student Development or related field.  A minimum of five years of work experience in related areas. Experience in staff supervision and budget management. Demonstrates understanding of student development theory and its applications. Demonstrates understanding of academic culture. Must have ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple interactions

Demonstrates proficiency in organizational management and leadership development. Demonstrates skills in decision making, facilitation, mediation, collaboration, project management and fiscal planning. Demonstrates leadership skills to recruit staff, create long range plans, coordinate new and existing programs, and collaborate with university and community constituents.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in Greek life.  Demonstrate understanding of diversity and global community

Special Working Conditions The scope of responsibilities for this position includes the making or participating in the making of decisions that may have a material financial benefit on the incumbent. Therefore, you will be required to file an initial “Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interests” within thirty (30) days from date of hire and on an annual basis; and complete the CSU sponsored ethics on-line training within thirty (30) days of appointment, and at least once during each consecutive period of two calendar years following the appointment.

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a fingerprint background check.
