Were seeking a
dynamic andcollaborative colleague to become our first Program
Associate. The Program Associate will be an essential part of our
small but mighty team, reporting to the Program Director to realize
the potential of Our Bodies Ourselves Today.
Who We Are
Our
Bodies Ourselves Today (OBOS Today) is a digital platform, launched
in Fall 2022, that provides accurate, trustworthy, feminist health
and sexuality information and resources to the public. Our online
platform enables the unique contributions, approaches, and
functions of the groundbreaking womens health bookOur
Bodies,Ourselvesto live on, while adding new features and
connecting with new audiences across the globe.
Our materials
are rigorously evaluated, carefully curated, and regularly updated
bypanels of leading feminist health experts drawn from fields
including medicine, public health, academia, consumer activism,
policy, and media. The content and analysis we provide is grounded
both in diverse lived experiences and current political and
cultural contexts. It is accurate, evidence-based, holistic,
user-friendly, and available at no cost. We also feature intimate
and honest video stories of, and conversations among and between,
women and gender-expansive people.
Who You Are
You are a highly
competent professional with a passion for our mission of providing
an accurate and inclusive guide to health, sexuality, and
reproductive justice, and are motivated by the prospect of
advancing the development of a powerful, intersectional feminist
resource for women, girls, and gender-expansive people.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for OBOS Today staff and
leadership--including Executive Director, Program Director,
external contractors, and content experts--for initiatives,
meetings, grants, and projects;
Coordinate and implement project timelines (including grant
reporting, administration, and management); manage calendars;
schedule and send reminders for meetings;
Proofread and copyedit documents;
Attend meetings and take minutes; reserve rooms, catering, and
equipment for events;
Monitor and respond to OBOS Today email; including correspondence
with grantors and contractors;
Implement program and event planning in coordination with Program
Director and partners;
Manage content resource review workflow; liaise between expert
panels and Program Director;
Maintain records and files;
Publish reviewed and approved content on OBOS Today website;
Implement parts of the marketing and communications strategy
(Constant Contact, social media), including organizing and sending
out occasional bulk mailings;
Build and maintain a stakeholder database.
Coordinate financial management with the Program and Executive
Directors, including planning, budgeting, expense and revenue
tracking, contract and grant applications, year-end financial
reports;
Manage budgets for grants, projects, and programs, create and
project budgets for internal and external funding;
Provide reporting support, developing fiscal and programmatic
reports for funders;
Research and recommend purchases, monitor expenditures, ensure
timely and accurate processing of contracts and financials;
Monitor, analyze, and interpret financial information;
Assist in developing budgets for external grants.
Job Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Outstanding time and project management skills with the ability to
organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, follow-up
on assignments, and work effectively on several projects
concurrently with a minimum of supervision;
Strong interpersonal skills including the capacity to effectively
communicate and create rapport with people from diverse
backgrounds;
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint), Google Suite, and major social media platforms;
Proficient with Constant Contact, using personalization, social
media integration, data analysis, email campaigns, and other
functions.
Background in the feminist health, sexuality, and/or social justice
space; knowledge of and fluency with the norms and language of this
space;
Experience working with communities of color, the LGBTQIA+
community, and other marginalized communities.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with web-based publishing;
Degree in Womens Studies, Gender Studies, Sexuality Studies, or
similar field.
Salary Range
$60,000-$64,000/year, plus a
comprehensive benefits package that includes health, retirement,
and tuition benefits.
Work Arrangement
This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried
position.
Boston-based position. Hybrid: in person
4 days/week.
