Waynesburg University, Department of Criminal Justice and Social Science
seeks applicants for a full-time position. Tenure track position is possible, based on the successful applicant’s qualifications. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Begins August, 2014. Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field and 5 years of experience required. PhD preferred. The successful candidate should have professional experience in law enforcement or a related field at the federal, state, local, or private level. Experience working at the federal level is preferred. Successful candidate will teach 12 semester hours per semester. The ability to teach topics related to, but not limited to: Victimology, Criminology, Deviant Behavior, Juvenile Delinquency, Juvenile Justice System, and Criminal Profiling. Successful candidate will advise criminal justice majors; assist with internship and career placement; participate in extracurricular activities and programs; assist with the recruitment of prospective students; serve on faculty committees; and assist with the updating of criminal justice curriculum as needed. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University’s Mission and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
