About the College/Department:
Job Summary/Basic Functions
Reporting to the Director, Institutional Research & Data Analytics, the Data Analyst will support Institutional Effectiveness & Research. This position compiles and analyzes university data through coding, conducting analytics, developing reports and visualizations, providing analytical expertise, and supporting compliance with federal, state and institutional programs. The Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting data-driven decision-making, institutional research, and institutional effectiveness efforts across the university. This position is eligible for a hybrid on-campus/telework schedule, with the primary work location being EKU's Richmond Campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in related discipline is required.
Experience: One-year related work experience is required.
SQL experience strongly preferred.
Experience with programming languages required.
Proven experience in data analysis, data management, and quantitative research methods.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

- 30% - Conduct data analysis, write scripts/code/programs, and maintain/manage accurate information systems to ensure compliance and to support departmental operations. - (Essential)
- 30% - Develop analytical reports and represent large, complex sets of data through visualizations. - (Essential)
- 30% - Utilize information systems and data necessary to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and evidence-based decision-making. Stay current with emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities. - (Essential)
- 10% - Ensures the effective operation of the department by performing other duties as required. - (Essential)
