Job Description Summary
Initiate, contribute and manage development of multiple projects, devices and study protocols at direction of Principal Investigator. Leads research team to design and conduct quantitative research, instrument development projects which includes proposal development, research design, data collection, survey design, qualitative analyses, and report writing, to name a few.
Job Description
The Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy seeks an experienced Research Specialist D to support multiple research projects. The Research Specialist D will work closely with Dr. Navathe to initiate, design, and implement multiple research projects and study protocols, including evaluations and large-scale projects with experimental and quasi-experimental research designs for Dr. Navathe's health system and payer research portfolio. The Research Specialist D will work directly with Dr, Navathe and co-investigators on the design and execution of analytic research projects (including assisting with the development of analytic plans and standard operating procedures); leading a research team to design and conduct research; statistical program development and review; analytic troubleshooting; management of literature reviews; development of relationships with existing and potential research partners and research sites, regulatory offices, and affiliated organizations, as part of stakeholder management; review and interpretation of statistical models; proposal, report and manuscript preparation; and visualization.
The Research Specialist D will be responsible for training and supervising staff, interfacing with postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and students. With a close partnership with Dr. Navathe and his co-investigators, and in a research investigator capacity, the Research Specialist D will play a central role in designing, executing, and evaluating studies to ensure the success of research projects. Responsibilities include planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, analyzing, disseminating research.

Qualifications
Master's degree and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of health policy research, health services research, stakeholder management, and expertise in manuscript and grant preparation. They should have experience working with biostatisticians and data analysts on tasks related to statistical program development and review, analytic troubleshooting, review and interpretation of statistical models, and visualization. Furthermore, a proven record of independent scholarship is required.
The preferred candidate will have experience with healthcare innovation/transformation methodologies and implementation projects; experience with pharmaceutical outcomes research for various disease states, in particular, claims-based research (e.g., Medicare, SEER); and, experience with pharmaceutical policy (e.g., Medicare Part D, benefit design evaluation). Excellent writing and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with colleagues and collaborators are considered key qualifications.
The Targeted Pay Range for this position is $76,973 to 89,106. This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
