Jackson State University's Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor.
Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminal Justice. The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 2014. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Administration of Justice or Juvenile Justice. Areas of specialization desired are: law enforcement, research methods, and statistics. Teaching load is between 9-12 credit hours per semester, depending on faculty status and advising responsibilities of graduate students. All faculty are expected to participate in delivering college-wide core courses that emphasize writing, speaking, and the use of technology. For tenure track positions, the successful candidates will provide evidence of excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarship, grantsmanship, and professional development that will enable them to meet the criteria for promotion and tenure at the appropriate time in the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology.
