The Director of the English Language Support Program (ELSP) manages the administrative and daily operations and directs the enrollment, advising, and registration of the Laney Graduate School (LGS) students and Emory research employees. The Director supervises fulltime instructors for classroom teaching and materials development, advising, testing, scoring, performance review, and student evaluations, and also serves as the final decision maker for scores. This position also serves as teaching faculty in ELSP and participates in initial and post speaking assessments.

The Director has responsibility for design of curriculum and instructional materials for all speaking and writing classes in collaboration with ELSP instructors, and manages various annual events, participates in materials review, and preparation for the program, including the ELSP webpage. This position also manages and fosters the ongoing use of technology to enhance the curriculum and instructional materials. The Director is expected to lead planning and design of innovative programs to expand global and local projects, and promote existing programs within the framework of the LGS' objectives and mission.

A Master's degree in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language required. A PhD in a related field preferred. Seven years teaching experience at the graduate level in a research university setting and experience in teaching, leadership, program administration, supervising, curriculum design, instructional materials development, assessment, and advising preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
