Music: Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Recording Arts Department. Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track Position. Position Summary: Teach undergraduate courses in recording arts and assist in curriculum development (including on-line certificate programs and course modules); assist with supervision of audio production for the Jacobs School's performance activities; advise Recording Arts majors and assist in the leadership of the Recording Arts department. Maintain an active program of research and creative activity in the field and involvement in appropriate professional organizations; develop music industry professional connections. Service on departmental committees, participation in student recruitment, and service on Jacobs School committees is expected. Required Qualifications: Primary expertise in live sound reinforcement and studio recording; secondary expertise in classical music recording or electronics repair and maintenance of studio equipment is desirable. Advanced music production techniques using Pro Tools is required. At least three years of experience in professional audio production and a record of accomplishment as a studio engineer, sound designer, or live sound engineer. Teaching experience within a university environment; experience in curriculum development is desirable. Bachelor's degree in audio production or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred; substantial professional and academic experience will be given equal consideration. Effective Beginning August 1, 2014. Review of applications will begin on March 31, 2014.
