The George Washington University seeks nominations for and expressions of interest in the position of Senior Associate Vice President for Development, Schools/Units.

In anticipation of the public launch of an historic campaign, GW seeks a dynamic advancement executive with a strong track record in fund raising, management, and campaigns to lead fund-raising efforts within GWs Schools and Units. Reporting to Mike Morsberger, Vice President for Development, the Senior Associate Vice President of Development, Schools/Units (Sr. AVP) will be responsible for envisioning, developing, and implementing programs and infrastructure in support of the campaign, as well as oversight of setting and achieving annual goals.

Joining a world-class advancement operation, the Sr. AVP will manage the teams ultimately responsible for achieving annual and campaign fund-raising goals at all levels, as well as building the pipeline of future donors for GW. The Sr. AVP will be responsible for direct management of the AVPs for Development responsible for Law and Medicine, the AVP for Development for all of GWs other schools, and the Assistant VP for campus and community. A new position, the Sr. AVP will work collaboratively with deans, university administrators, senior management, and volunteers to create and implement comprehensive fund-raising strategies in support of the priorities for each of the schools and units.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus ten years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The ideal candidate will have considerable campaign experience, preferably in a large research university setting, as well as experience managing a team and direct experience cultivating and soliciting major and principal gifts.
