ESL LECTURER, INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM


The Intensive English Program, Department of Second Language Studies at Indiana University invites applications for 2-4 positions as Lecturer in ESL. This is a 10-month appointment (five two-month sessions) with an initial three-year contract. Lecturers are eligible to apply for promotion to senior lecturer (via portfolio assessment) after 5 years. Begins August 1, 2014. IEP courses meet daily. Candidates will teach three courses per session with 10 hours per week devoted to program development (including committee work). MA in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field required. Must have five years experience teaching in university-based intensive ESL programs, overseas experience desirable. Lecturers are expected to take a leadership role in the IEP. Applications should include a cover letter and official graduate transcripts, and a teaching portfolio that includes a CV, statement of teaching philosophy, record of teaching, and original instructional materials.
