About the Opportunity

The HRIT Data Analyst works collaboratively with HR functional areas and college/division HR key contacts to identify, develop, and document comprehensive requirements for data requests. The HRIT Data Analyst also collaborates with other in testing and validation of data for accuracy. Other responsibilities include developing reports and providing workforce data and analytics to support decision making.

To be successful, you must demonstrate strong analysis, problem-solving, and time management skills and will have experience in working with complex data resulting from a decentralized environment with varied business process. You must also proactively identify issues associated with data and work with HRIT Analysts to resolve these.

You enjoy developing reports and queries, analyzing data, working with customers and likes to solve problems. Must have the ability to interact with customers in a sensitive and diplomatic manner while maintaining positive relationships and be able to manage various conflicting deadlines in an environment in which you will be asked to balance the demands of multiple priorities.

Responsibilities:

I. Reporting
  • Provide ad-hoc queries using Workday and SQL Developer
  • Provide reporting expertise to aid in troubleshooting to HR and other users
  • Support Workday as the University report writer tool
  • Serve as resource to HR staff to define and implement reports or queries
  • Assist in the training and documentation to support user needs
  • Review existing reports to leverage report library and communicate report output to all users
  • Develop, analyze and provide data for quarterly metrics report package
  • Assist in the development and deployment of ad hoc and standard report capabilities to users


II. Data Integrity & Security
  • Participates in efforts to manage data audits and reconciles HR data integration issues to enhance overall data integrity levels.
  • Creates and acts upon audit queries to ensure the integrity of data in all HR Systems.


III. Training/Communications
  • Develop/Update training materials and train users on Workday
  • Develop and maintain standard report and documentation library


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Computer Science, General Business, or related field required
  • 3-5 years experience in data analytics, SQL query and Workday reporting experience across HCM/Payroll modules required
  • Workday Prism Experience preferred
  • Proficient in SQL Query
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Familiarity with Human Resources and Payroll process and data preferred
  • Knowledge of the evaluation, selection, design, development, implementation, testing, documentation, maintenance and upgrading of HR software applications for the organization.
  • Proficiency with data management, applications, test plans, test cases, systems change, and Excel.
  • Skills required include organizational, written/verbal communications, interpersonal, time management, analytical and attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical employees and management.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service i.e. customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Sound judgment, excellent organization skills and ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and customer service skills for effective communication with all employee levels
  • Responds to requests with a service mindset
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ensures the confidentiality of all HR data
  • Demonstrate professional presence and positive energy to all initiatives
  • Prior experience in higher education is a plus
  • Familiarity with the following systems preferred: Workday, Prism, Cognos
