The University of Massachusetts Amherst, Center for Student Development, is seeking a Director of Finance and Business Services. Under general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor, provides administration and supervises the management of financial systems and business services for all areas of Center for Student Development (CSD) and the Student Activities Trust Fund (SATF), including departmental accounting, cost controls, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting. Advises student leaders and provides education to student leaders in these areas.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field plus three years of progressively responsible business, budgetary, and supervisory experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 5 years of progressively responsible business, budgetary, and supervisory experience. Experience in the management of a relatively complex organization, responsibility for significant budgets, budget analysis, budget forecasting, making conclusions and appropriate recommendations, equipment purchasing and operation management are required. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel is required. Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital. Knowledge of state accounting, purchasing and personnel policies preferred. Experience in public higher education institution preferred. Occasional evenings or weekends required.

 

Hiring Salary Range: $55,000 – $69,200

 

Normal Starting Salary Range: $55,000 – $62,100

 

This is a 52-week, 37.5 hour per week position, plus benefits.
