JOB DESCRIPTION The Research Analyst 2 reports to the Director Data Management & Institutional Research and is a member of a team that provides data and analytical support regarding a wide range of subjects that support the University's institutional effectiveness, planning, decision-making and policy formation. The Analyst is involved with ongoing data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of data in a usable and appropriate format. Essential tasks include: development and implementation of new and revised computerized research systems and procedures; using Access, Argos or SQL programs to extract data from the university mainframe; completion of major federal and state mandated reports; preparing statistical tables and graphics; using SPSS Tables, data analysis and office publications. Assist to ensure data integrity and security; assist office staff with programming and/or problems and technical issues as appropriate and perform other related tasks as assigned.  


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, social sciences or other relevant field and three years of progressively responsible technical and analytical experience in creating and managing large databases and performing analyses of data required. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member. Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills required. Ability to use a broad based knowledge of computing, statistical and research methods, and higher education issues to support campus decision makers with concise, relevant, clear and accurate data.
