Washington State University, one of the nation's leading land grant institutions, announces a nationwide search for a new Provost/Executive Vice President.

Washington State University conducts transformational research and provides world-class education to more than 27,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Founded in 1890 in Pullman, Washington State is one of only 96 public and private institutions recognized by the Carnegie Foundation as a "very high research activity" university. In addition to the Pullman campus, WSU has campuses in Spokane, the Tri-Cities, and Vancouver, and a developing campus in Everett; four research and extension centers within the state and extension offices in every county; and a Global Campus with online degree programs accessible worldwide. The University's biennial operating budget is nearly $2 billion.

The Provost and Executive Vice President reports directly to the President. The Provost is the chief academic officer of the University and stands at the epicenter of the ongoing programmatic and curricular innovation at the University. WSU seeks a dynamic and visionary leader who will build upon the institution's strengths to provide exceptional undergraduate, graduate, and professional educational experiences, recruit and develop outstanding faculty, enhance the academic and cultural experience at WSU, and promote faculty-driven scholarly and creative endeavors.

It is expected that the best candidates for the position will have demonstrated an ability to lead and manage a complex academic organization and will possess an outstanding record as an accomplished scholar and educator who merits tenure at the rank of full professor. The Provost is expected to be a champion of both teaching and research and be devoted to excellence and shared governance. The next Provost should possess exemplary interpersonal and communication skills; impeccable integrity; a collegial and approachable demeanor; a team orientation; and a student-centered approach to academic leadership.

While applications and nominations will be accepted until a new Provost is selected, interested parties are encouraged to submit their materials to our consultant at the address below by April 15 to assure optimal consideration.
