Assessment Coordinator

Administrative Structure:

The individual is an administrator in the Office of the Dean, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and will report to the Executive Director for Assessment.

Position Overview:

The assessment coordinator will provide ongoing support for assessment activities, assist with the analysis of assessment methods and results and report results to both internal and external stakeholders. The assessment coordinator will assist with the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of data to academic, support, and administrative units. This individual will also be responsible for coordinating the operations of the college's electronic testing platform and training new faculty and students on its use.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate data collection and analysis related to the assessment cycle of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
  • Prepare assessment reports for dissemination to internal and external audiences
  • Collaborate in efforts related to accreditation reporting databases and documentation collection and organization across programs
  • Work with committees and programs to collect data, design assessment tools, analyze data, and document analysis in reports
  • Work with Committee on Assessment and Outcomes to problem-solve issues that arise with assessment plan
  • Coordinate operations related to the College's testing software modalities, including assessment-related software and data systems
  • Continually monitor and track various cyclical assessment data items
  • Collaborate with departments and academic programs in planning and conducting assessments of student learning, goals and outcomes for both internal and external purposes
  • Assist committees and faculty in measuring the impact of learning support services on student achievement of intended learning outcomes
  • Assist directors and faculty in planning, and reporting results of continuous improvement initiatives in learner success and assurance of learning.
  • Coordinate and evaluate various assessment efforts for academic programs within the College
  • Assist faculty with data gathering and analysis of data to help evaluate the effectiveness of assessments and assessment items
  • Execute surveys and other evaluation instruments for assessment initiatives and effectiveness evaluation projects
  • Supports ongoing assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Preparation of data for the Office's annual reports and other ad-hoc reports
  • Participate in workshops for the College community related to assessment and the college's electronic testing platform
  • Participate actively in the Office of Assessment's ongoing scholarship efforts
  • Member of college/university committees as appointed
  • Some evenings and weekends work may be required for special programs and events
  • Special projects as assigned by the Dean or his designee(s)


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in higher education - educational outcomes, assessment, or program coordination experience preferred
  • Experience with higher education IT and data systems, relational databases required
  • Technical skills, including experience with data visualization software, survey systems, computer-based testing systems and statistical software preferred
  • Ability to collect, analyze and present data in a cohesive manner
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written) necessary
  • Ability to multi-task, self-initiate, and work cooperatively required.
  • Knowledge and familiarity working with external accreditation agencies preferred.


In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary for this position is $62,400. St. John's University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This position may be relocated to any of St. John's University's physical locations at any time
