Job Description: The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research (PTR) in the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (COP) invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Continuing Pharmacy Education. The Assistant Director will hold a faculty appointment in PTR that is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Associate or Full Professor. The Assistant Director will report to the Director of Continuing Pharmacy Education. The Assistant Director provides oversight on administration of Continuing Pharmacy Education activities, ensuring compliance with ACPE Standards, laws and rules of the State of Florida, and Federal laws as they affect delivery of continuing pharmacy education activities. The Assistant Director of Continuing Pharmacy Education works with the Director to: (1) assure the development and delivery of high quality continuing education and non-traditional education for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and, on occasion, other health professionals; (2) evaluate quality and consistency of continuing education activities; (3) maintain CPE accreditation through preparation and review of required reports and completion of self-study documents on the ACPE schedule; (4) develop and implement procedures for successful customer service and support; (5) support and advise presenters in the development and implementation of CPE activities delivered or coordinated by the college; (6) oversee web-based systems for delivering continuing education programs, tracking credit hours, and marketing CPE activities; (7) collaborate with UFCOP faculty, outside agencies, and students to support the College of Pharmacymission and appropriate initiatives; (8) document pre- and post-educational activities to ensure compliance with Standards and Rules affecting the Division of Continuing Pharmacy Education; and (9) promote and market the Collegecontinuing pharmacy education activities to the public. Minimum Requirements: The applicant should have a Pharm.D. degree with post-graduate training (residency, fellowship or equivalent experience) and teaching experience. Eligibility for Florida licensure is required. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. FDLE Criminal Background Check Required.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with continuing pharmacy education activities, leading entrepreneurial activities, developing CE programs, and working in an administrative capacity. An understanding of continuing pharmacy education; familiarity with accreditation standards and with evaluation and assessment of continuing pharmacy education; demonstrated scholarship; and experience in mentoring students and\\:or residents is preferred.
