The faculty of the Department of Communication & Media within the School of Arts, Media, and Communication invite applicants for a professional assistant professor (not tenure-track) position to begin in Fall 2014. The successful applicant needs to have an expertise in digital journalism and the skills to teach undergraduate classes in news gathering, multi-media writing, and interviewing. Other job responsibilities include advising "Island Waves," the university's weekly student newspaper.
The successful candidate will hold an MA in journalism, mass communication, media studies, or related field. Requirements include excellent teaching skills and a willingness to interface with the community to broaden the department's reputation. May involve night, weekend, and electronic course delivery.
