Full-time faculty in the Graduate and Professional Studies Nursing Department, starting immediately (12-month contract) with office space at the Monroeville Center. This tenure track faculty position emphasizes teaching, scholarship, and practice consistent with faculty expectations within the Graduate and Professional Studies division. Position requires an MSN plus an earned doctoral degree in nursing or other relevant discipline such as higher education or healthcare administration, DNP degree preferred; current registered nurse license; experience teaching; and commitment to a quality learning environment. Evidence of leadership and scholarship are preferred, experience in healthcare administration a plus. DNP student will be considered if other qualifications are strong. Responsibilities include teaching in the RN to BSN, MSN and/or DNP programs, advising students, overseeing student practicum and capstone projects, scholarship, service, and faculty practice focused on implementation of evidence-based practice and enhanced quality of healthcare delivery. Courses are taught in four regionally located adult academic centers.

Full-time position, beginning Fall 2014. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Rank and tenure track status will be determined based upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in classroom, clinical, and simulation laboratory settings, provide academic student advising, participate in curriculum development, maintain membership on various departmental and University committees and engage in scholarly activity. The candidate must possess a master’s degree in nursing; a doctoral degree in nursing desired; have or be able to obtain, prior to the start date, a current nursing license for Pennsylvania; and experience in medical/surgical nursing and simulation. The candidate must have an understanding of teaching at a liberal arts institution and experience in baccalaureate nursing education.
