PROGRAM DIRECTOR, MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE

 

The Department of Analytical and Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for the position of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program Director.  The Medical Laboratory Science Program is housed in the Department of Analytical and Diagnostic Sciences in the College of Allied Health Sciences on the UC Academic Health Center Campus.  The MLS Program offers a NAACLS accredited BS degree in Medical Laboratory Science in on-campus and distance-learning tracks, as well as a certificate track. The University of Cincinnati is ranked as one of Americas top 25 public research universities.  It is an urban university of 14 colleges, 300-plus program offerings, and a diverse student body of more than 42,000. 

 

The Program Director will have primary responsibility for the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development, evaluation and general effectiveness of the MLS program. Reporting to the Department Head, the Program Director will lead the units faculty, staff, and students in advancing programmatic goals and delivering high quality programs.  Additional responsibilities of the MLS Program Director include: maintaining program accreditation and program evaluation; leadership in curriculum development, and selected teaching responsibilities. This 12 month educator track position will predominately be responsible for teaching and service with minimal research expectations.

 

Qualified applicants will possess a masters degree (doctorate preferred) in a related field and certification in Medical Laboratory Science (ASCP) or Medical Technology (ASCP).  The NAACLS-approved Program Director must have academic administrative experience in managing accredited health profession programs and experience in accreditation and certification procedures.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in innovative pedagogy and teaching excellence.  Salary is highly competitive and will be based on overall qualifications and experience.
