Reporting directly to the Dean, this high level position is essential to enable the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health to design and successfully implement processes for achieving and sustaining national accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). ZSPH is seeking a public health expert trained in a nationally accredited school or graduate program of public health and with proven experience in academic design, planning and evaluation. This position will work with the Dean, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty Chair and relevant chairs of faculty committees for carrying out various aspects of the position. In addition, the Senior Public Health Specialist will work directly with the Dean in the design, execution and evaluation of priority initiatives essential to the schools development and impact. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as the schools designated liaison to the CEPH and other relevant professional organizations; Develop and manage the schools CEPH self-study process and reports; Manage all aspects of preparation for accreditation-related consultation and site visits Assist in the coordination, development and execution of the schools assessment strategy; Keep up-to-date on accreditation issues, policies and changes in accreditation criteria; Sustain efforts post-accreditation to ensure continuous quality improvement; Assure the schools effective participation in the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and in related local, regional, and national organizations and meetings. Assist with strategic planning including academic program development Assist with curriculum planning/development; Provide public health teaching and instruction. Manage the design, execution and evaluation of special initiatives of the Dean e.g. leadership development, lifelong learning and speaker series Oversee planning, implementation and evaluation of regional and national meetings of academic, practice and policy leaders in public health.
Masters degree in Public Health or related field is required (to be earned by the start date of the position). Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience is required. Exceptional writting skills are required. Evidence of excellent organizational and communication skills are required.
Doctoral degree in Public Health or related field is preferred. Experience with CEPH or related accreditation process is preferred. Proven record working with academic design and development teams is preferred.
