Director/English: St. Thomas University invites applications for the position of Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Director. St. Thomas University's QEP, Word Up! Transforming Writing at STU, is a comprehensive initiative to improve students' writing skills at the undergraduate level. The Director will be responsible for the implementation and operation of the QEP. She/he will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the major components of the QEP: first-year writing communities; writing-intensive courses; and writing within the discipline courses. The Director will effectively coordinate QEP-related activities with faculty, staff, and students, including leading faculty development workshops, assessment of QEP Student Learning Outcomes, benchmark reporting, and program evaluation. The Director will also oversee the Word Up! Writing Lab. Required Qualifications: MA, MFA, or PhD in English or closely related field; experience in teaching writing at the college level; experience with writing across the curriculum; experience with writing within the discipline; excellent verbal and written communications skills; and an ability to work well with faculty, students, and staff. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the assessment and evaluation of writing programs and writing-related initiatives.
