Animal/Equine Science: Assistant/Associate Professor of Animal/Equine Science. Murray State University. Full- time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 15, 2014, in the Hutson School of Agriculture, the seventh largest non-land grant school of agriculture in the United States. Ph.D. in Animal/Equine Science or documented plan to receive doctoral degree by August 2014. Previous college-level teaching experience in food animal science is preferred for assistant professor and required for associate professor. Will teach undergraduate courses in animal/equine science including (but not limited to) nutrition, reproduction, and animal breeding core classes. Responsibilities also include academic advising; student recruitment; course development; advise student clubs and organizations; work closely with equine and livestock managers; interact with an industry advisory committee; and develop a working relationship with relevant industries. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in a focused program of scholarly activity resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Participation in professional development activities and service/leadership to the school, university, industry and state, regional, and national professional organizations will be expected. Actual teaching assignments will be based on the specific strengths of the successful candidate and the curricular needs of the school.
