The University of Central Florida (UCF), Department of Health Professions, program in Physical Therapy invites applications for an assistant clinical professor and Director of Clinical Education. The position will be a 12-month clinical track faculty position. The program in Physical Therapy offers an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. The program is within the Department of Health Professions, located in the College of Health and Public Affairs. The UCF program in Physical Therapy has a small-tomedium sized student cohort and possesses numerous partnerships involving hospital organizations and rehabilitation clinics for research and scholarly activity. The program in Physical Therapy offers 34 weeks of full time clinical education. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will also serve as the Director of Clinical Education and charged with administrative oversight of the clinical education program. Additional expectations include teaching activities in related areas of clinical education and applicant expertise, university and professional service, and scholarly activity in alignment with applicant expertise.

Located in east Orlando, UCFs 1,415-acre main campus provides modern facilities, with 600 acres set aside for lakes, woods and an arboretum. More than 60,000 students attend classes on UCFs main campus and its 10 regional campuses located throughout Central Florida, making it the second largest university in the country. Minimum qualifications include: a post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a CAPTE accredited institution, and an advanced certification in an area of clinical physical therapy practice. Additional requirements include: licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida, APTA credentialed clinical instructor, APTA credentialed advanced clinical instructor, at least 8 years of clinical experience, and at least 5 years of experience as a clinical instructor of DPT students.


Preferences for the position include: Candidates with experience in clinical instruction and practice in interdisciplinary healthcare settings; experience in academic instruction of DPT students; clinical practice in areas of management of chronic disorders (i.e. oncology); supervisory / administrative experience in interdisciplinary management of chronic medical conditions; familiarity with local and regional healthcare providers; ability to participate in collaborative department and community clinical research; familiarity with current professional and practice issues in physical therapy clinical education.
