Teaches a diverse student population using a variety of instructional modes and acknowledged best practices in the Second Language (ESL) Program. The ESL Program supports the university in its mission to provide students with opportunities to engage with real-life contexts and local and global communities and helps them prepare for success in their educational, professional, and personal goals. The position includes a teaching load of 15 credit hours a semester, departmental and university service assignments, and coordination/administrative responsibilities. A teaching load of 9-10 credit hours for summer may be available with additional compensation. There is also a possibility of reassigned time for some administrative responsibilities.
 
Job Requirements
 

Master's degree in TESL, applied linguistics with an emphasis in teaching English as a Second Language or other closely related degree with a certificate in E.S.L. with a significant amount of course work (at least 20%) in E.S.L. theory, methodology, and assessment, or an earned doctorate in TESOL, applied linguistics, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.



Preferred: Position is open to those who have earned a masters degree in TESL, applied linguistics with an emphasis in teaching English as a Second Language, or a closely-related field.
Position is also open to those who have earned a doctorate degree in TESL, applied linguistics with an emphasis in teaching English as a Second Language or a closely-related field.
