Dakota State University seeks an energetic and innovative Vice President for Student Affairs / Dean of Students. DSU's new strategic plan includes initiatives in recruitment and retention and the provision of an exceptional student experience. This individual is crucial to the plan's implementation. Major areas reporting to position are admissions, financial aid, career services, diversity and counseling services, residence life, the bookstore, student activities, student development, food services and student health. The VP of Student Affairs reports directly to the DSU President and also works closely with the South Dakota Board of Regents staff and other VP's throughout the state
Earned doctorate in Student Affairs preferred, master's degree Student Affairs required. Will consider degree in another appropriate filed with significant experience. Minimum of five years' of progressive experience in the field of Student Affairs administration and demonstrated success in working with students, administration, faculty and staff in higher education. Experience with residential life administration, student development, active student programming, orientation, admissions activities, and campus/community relationships is desired.
Dakota State University is located in Madison, South Dakota, approximately 50 miles northwest of Sioux Falls in the southern lakes region of the state.
