The Women's and Gender Studies Program (WGS) at Northern Arizona University invites applications for a lecturer position with a teaching emphasis. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach the required introductory Women's and Gender Studies course, Women, Gender Identity, and Ethnicity, and courses such as Introduction to Queer Studies, and Advanced Readings in Queer Studies.
Ph.D. in Women's and Gender Studies or related field in the Social Sciences or Humanities, completed by August 2014.
Candidates should have a passion for teaching and a research agenda that informs classroom pedagogy and practice. Preference will be given to candidates with training and expertise in Queer Studies to help build our new Queer Studies minor. Preference is also given to candidates with experience, ability, and interest in employing feminist pedagogy in the teaching of large and small classes, and evidence of teaching and service with an intersectional framework and to candidates committed to diversity and to working with other faculty members and student groups in and outside the classroom.
