Job Summary: The Development Associate Senior Director generates charitable support for The University of Alabama in excess of $3.0 million annually. Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards prospects believed to be capable of making major gifts. Meets defined visit and solicitation goals. Works closely with deans, faculty, volunteers, and other stakeholders to achieve goals. Solicits significant, major-level gifts including current gifts, pledges, and planned gifts. Prioritizes tasks set in consultation with supervisors. Manages the development office of a college, department, or division. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise other development employees.

Additional Department Summary: Dual reporting structure to the Office of Development and the Dean of the College of Engineering.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and four (4) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Good public relations, oral and written communications, excellent organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard software packages.
