Emergency Medicine: Wayne State University has an available position of Assistant Professor in Detroit, MI. Position requires a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physiology. Position also requires: 1) Two peer-reviewed journal publications in neuronal injury mechanisms following brain ischemia. Job duties: Teach university courses in physiology & anatomy. Teach graduate & undergraduate students lab techniques in the Basic Science Laboratory. Advise graduate students on graduate projects. Advise & mentor students. Conduct research in basic science in the area of brain injury following ischemia & reperfusion. Identify neuronal injury mechanisms following brain ischemia. Work with rats & mice using surgery & molecular biology techniques. Perform & supervise experiments with cell culture, animals, & molecular biology. Publish results of research in peer-reviewed journals. Write grants.
