Archaeological Anthropology: The NDSU Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in archaeological anthropology beginning August 2014. Geographical area of expertise is open. The successful candidate will conduct research leading to significant publications, seek external funding, teach effectively, perform department, college, university, and professional service. Minimum Requirements: ABD considered, P.h.D required for tenure-track appointment. Preparation to teach undergraduate and master's courses (2/semester) including four-field introductory course, world prehistory, North American archaeology, introductory biological anthropology, GIS and spatial analysis, courses in candidate's areas of specialization. Evidence of research dissemination through publications and professional presentations and effective oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of effective college-level teaching; ability to teach physical anthropology or bioarchaeology courses; demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and students in an interdisciplinary program; archaeological expertise beyond North America; interest or experience in online teaching; experience or interest in heritage studies; demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
