General Summary
The School of Technology & Professional Services Mgmt is accepting applications for a part-time lecturer to teach courses in the Paralegal Program.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for assigned courses. Typically, two hybrid legal research, writing, and analysis courses during fall semester, and one hybrid legal research, writing, and analysis course during winter semester.
- Maintain a positive learning environment
- Prepare and submit syllabi, course materials, assignments, and assessments, as requested by Paralegal Program Coordinator
- Consider learning differences when designing and implementing learning activities
- Employ appropriate assessment tools to measure student performance
- Use technology effectively to achieve course goals and objectives
- Available for student meetings outside of assigned classes
- Prepare and submit attendance records, grades, and other required documentation consistent with Eastern Michigan University schedules
- Attend periodic meetings with Paralegal Program Coordinator and Paralegal Program faculty
- Possess a commitment to the education of paralegal students and the utilization of paralegal services
- Possess a commitment to continued professional growth by participating in activities designed to improve teaching effectiveness
- Perform related departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- J.D.
- Attorney in Good Standing of a state bar
- Four years legal work experience
- Excellent writing, research, and analysis, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
