Job Description:


Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. The Coordinator of the Future Educators Academy is a pivotal role that encompasses comprehensive oversight and management of the academy. This position is responsible for the holistic implementation and daily management of the academy's programs, ensuring their smooth and effective execution. Key responsibilities include monitoring and enhancing student engagement, proactively addressing any issues related to participation and satisfaction, anticipating and responding to Virginia Department of Education reporting requirements, and integrating feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement.A critical aspect of the role is the rapid resolution of both operational and educational challenges, coupled with maintaining robust communication channels. The Coordinator acts as a liaison with various stakeholders, including the Virginia Department of Education, school divisions, and parents, faculty, and staff. This role also entails the preparation of detailed reports for the Virginia Department of Education and college leadership on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis, emphasizing continuous program enhancement based on stakeholder feedback. Emphasis will be placed on parent/student, school division and transfer institution communication. This role will work closely with transfer institutions to assure a seamless student experience at low cost.Additionally, the role extends to overseeing budget analysis and resource allocation, collaborating with finance teams and department heads to ensure efficient and compliant budget management. This comprehensive oversight ensures that the Future Educators Academy operates effectively and aligns with its strategic goals and the broader objectives of Germanna Community College as well as the Virginia Department of Education. Furthermore, the Coordinator is responsible for supervising the Academy Advisor. This includes managing their performance, providing necessary training and guidance, and ensuring adherence to quality standards, resource allocation, and policy compliance.

KSA's/Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing equity, inclusion, and diversity
  • Knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff, and students
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving educational achievement for students
  • Experience in K12 or higher education
  • Familiarity with secondary education, early college programs, dual enrollment programs
  • Ability to launch large-scale new programs and substantial reporting requirements
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of K-12 and higher education programs and curriculum requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools.
