Educational Research and Evaluation
The Ohio University Patton College of Education and its Department of Educational Studies invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in educational research methodology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor will require significant prior teaching, service, and scholarly activities. The successful candidate will join the faculty of Educational Research and Evaluation (EDRE), a methodological foundations oriented program offering courses to graduate students from across the entire university. The EDRE program also has its own doctoral and master’s students.
The appointee will be expected to maintain a strong record of scholarship. The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate from an accredited university in a relevant field. We will consider candidates with any area(s) of expertise within educational research (e.g., applied statistics, secondary analyses of extant datasets, psychometrics, qualitative inquiry, mixed methods, etc.) who have the capacity to teach at a graduate level and lead dissertations. Teaching responsibilities will generally be assigned based on specific qualifications and interests of the appointee.
· teach graduate courses on both the Athens and regional campuses
· advise graduate students and direct dissertations for majors in the EDRE program
· serve on doctoral committees and dissertations for students in other programs
· serve on shared governance committees of the department, college, and university
· provide service to the university and the profession
Required qualifications include:
· An earned doctorate from an accredited university in a relevant field
· A strong record of published scholarship
· Experience teaching, advising, and mentoring graduate students
Preferred qualifications include:
· Excellent communication, collegial, and interpersonal skills
· Experience working with diverse populations
