Lecturer, Economics and Finance
The Department of Economics and Finance in the School of Business and Economics (SBE) at the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh seeks applications for a full time (non-tenure track) Lecturer in Economics, to begin August 2014. The SBE is an AACSB-accredited school and the successful candidate must maintain appropriate academic or professional qualifications. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service in an institution dedicated primarily to undergraduate education. He or she will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and gender issues, as SUNY Plattsburgh is committed to ensuring that its graduates are educated to succeed in an increasingly complex, multicultural, and interdependent world.
Responsibilities include: The teaching load will include instructing introduction to and intermediate business statistics, and introductory economics. Duties include student advisement and participation in service responsibilities for the Department of Economics and Finance, the School of Business and Economics, and the University.
Required Qualifications: Graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field. Good writing, presentation, and communication skills, in addition to a commitment to teaching excellence.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in the fields mentioned above and evidence of effective teaching will be highly regarded.
