Description

The Department of Urology is seeking an Education Program Manager. This is a new position responsible for the planning and execution of the educational mission of Stanford Medicine, Department Urology.  Education Program Manager will be responsible for program management, administration, and supervision of the residency programs, subspecialty training fellowships, post doc administration and urology clerkships.
 
This position will lead the department’s education initiative through program management, administration and program evaluation/assessment. The Education Program Manager will provide guidance and collaborate with the Program Directors to identify, develop and implement policies and procedures to comply with ACGME and RRC guidelines.   In addition, the Education Program Manager will present long-term strategies to the Program Directors and Chairman to ensure the viability, growth and enhancement of these programs.  This position will facilitate the training evaluation process and act as the primary liaison with the GME Office.   The Education Program Manager will lead the department preparation for internal and external program reviews; ensure timely completion of rotation and curriculum evaluations.
 
 
Qualifications
 
The required knowledge and education for this position is as follows:
 
A master’s degree and a minimum of three to five years of experience coordinating educational programs, particularly Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited residency and/or fellowship programs is required. 
 
Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written
 
 
Applicants must have the demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement long term strategies to enhance existing programs.
 
 
Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with faculty, fellows, residents and staff at all levels internal and external to the organization.
 
 
Exceptional editing skills, as this position requires interface between department and both the public and other departments within the university, it requires strong public relations skills.
 

Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
 

Advanced Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint).  In-depth familiarity with advanced document formatting and publishing features of Microsoft Word, including mail merges, tables, drawing and publishing tools, and creation of custom templates. Experience creating and maintaining webpages with a basic graphical tool such as Contribute and Dreamweaver. Previous experience in an educational, university, medical, or healthcare environment. Knowledge of Stanford policies or those of a similar institution.
 
 
Position requires discretion, confidentiality and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in grammar, spelling, editing and proofreading.  Must have ability to independently compose professional business - related correspondence.  Strong organizational skills required.
 
 
Desired: Master’s degree in education or relevant field.   Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MedHub, Web On-Call, E*Value, and ERAS.  Familiarity with Stanford systems, residency program procedures, policies and procedures desirable.
 
 
Must have strong team-building abilities among senior levels of administration and faculty.
 
 
Ability to multi-task, be resourceful, communicate effectively; handle sensitive confidential matters and be organized.
 
 
The desired knowledge and education for this position is as follows:
 
Experience and educational background  in curriculum design or implementation
 
Experience and educational background with competency based education, milestones/EPA’s preferred
 
Experience with MedHub is preferred.
 
Literacy in education policy and theories.
 
Ability to understand, distill, and promote the educational needs of the residents and faculty.

Knowledge of assessment/evaluation.
 
Ability to prioritize projects and access Stanford’s departments (across disciplines) to enrich and inform department’s educational aims.
 
Experience in data analysis, research, writing and editing academic manuscripts.
 
Ability to network in university setting with academics and university administrators.
