Serves as central point of information for university sponsored program activities and manages all routine proposal review and submissions. Provides expert support to faculty and staff and facilitates application process throughout proposal development, review and submission. Reviews, negotiates, and obtains institutional approvals for developed proposals. Performs all the pre-award functions of all sponsored program services. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Minimum of four years experience in sponsored programs administration (grants and contracts, including budget review). Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and guidelines. Ability to effectively balance customer service with regulatory compliance. Proficient with PC computer systems, Microsoft Office suite and database management for financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Familiarity with major federal sponsor regulations and procedures and demonstrated knowledge of sponsored project-related compliance issues including knowledge of federal regulations, i.e. OMB A-133 and A-21. Prior experience operating effectively in a fast-paced, highly service-oriented environment. Detail-oriented and organized with ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities and self-prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree. Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification. Sponsored programs administration experience in higher education. Familiarity with a broad range of federal and non-federal sponsors. PeopleSoft experience.
