The College of Nursing is recruiting creative and highly motivated individuals specializing in psychiatric/mental health nursing who are seeking to advance their academic careers and contribute to the research mission at the University of Florida. The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with nationally known and federally funded researchers specializing in autism, family mental health nursing as well as faculty members in the College of Public Health and Health Professions and numerous other colleges and centers on the UF campus.

The University of Florida (UF) is one of the nations top twenty Association of American Universities (AAU) public research universities. With more than 50,000 students, UF is the fourth largest university in the nation. UFs remarkably diverse campus in north central Florida includes a major arts and sciences component, as well as the Institute of Food and Agricultural Science and the Health Science Center, an internationally recognized Brain Institute, an Institute on Aging, Genetics Institute, Cancer Center, and Comprehensive Center for Pain Research. Faculty members enjoy opportunity for joint appointment with these institutes and centers.

The College of Nursing offers nationally accredited baccalaureate (generic and accelerated) and masters degree programs (CNL) as well as the states oldest PhD in Nursing Science. A cooperative PhD Degree provides doctoral education to four consortium universities. A Doctor of Nursing Practice degree was initiated in Fall 2006. The college was one of the first four VA Nursing Academy education partnerships in the country to receive major grant support for increased student enrollment and faculty retention.

The College is part of a world-class health science center, one of only three in Florida, and the flagship university in the state. Major areas of faculty research include public health, mental health, aging, cancer, and health policy. The Colleges Office of Research Support (ORS) and UFs CTSI offer outstanding mentorship and assistance for new and experienced researchers. An active faculty practice offers opportunities for interdisciplinary work and leadership in nurse-managed practices. The College has four endowed professorships.
