About the Position:

University Advancement serves Cal State Fullerton by building and strengthening relationships with the communities we serve to encourage advocacy, investment and support of the University, its mission, goals and programs in support of student and alumni success. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Associate Director, UA/CSF Philanthropic Foundation Fiscal Operations (Administrator I). Reporting to the CSFPF Controller, the Associate Director, UA/CSF Philanthropic Foundation Fiscal Operations is responsible for oversight of the Philanthropic Foundation operational processes. This position is responsible for the review of daily transactions in accordance with CSU, Philanthropic Foundation policies and State and Federal regulations. The Associate Director, UA/CSF Philanthropic Foundation Fiscal Operations will prepare summary reports for the Foundation Controller and Assistant Vice President to summarize overall status and recommend and implement process efficiencies. This position works collaboratively with division managers and delegates in University Advancement and in other divisions of CSUF. Works with the Foundation managerial team to recommend and maintain policy/guidelines and best subject area practices. Manage staff responsible for the fiscal and financial operational processing of the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation account maintenance, deposits, procurement, and disbursement process. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Four years of progressively responsible experience involving the preparation and analysis of a budget including two years of experience independently performing responsible fiscal analysis. Thorough knowledge of the techniques, methods, and procedures used in the preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget in the fund accounting system. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental budgeting and accounting. Ability to understand complex processes; ability to use computerized financial systems and spreadsheets to analyze and evaluate fiscal operations. Ability to analyze and maintain the budget and accounting processes of an administrative unit. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with various administrative levels; ability to speak and write logically and effectively; ability to compile and prepare written analytical reports. Experience overseeing administrative staff.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the financial management policies and procedures of the State, California State University, CSU Fullerton, and CSF Foundation.
