Dakota State University is accepting applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Exercise Science, effective August 2014. Requirements include an earned doctorate (ABD or Master's considered for a term position) in Exercise Science or a related field. Successful candidate must demonstrate excellence as a classroom teacher, experience teaching with technology and an active research agenda. Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association or the ability to obtain CSCS certification is preferred. Depending upon qualifications, teaching responsibilities will include courses such as motor learning and development, kinesiology, biomechanics, stress management, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs prevention education, and introduction to exercise science. Additional responsibilities include internship and/or practicum supervision, student advisement, committee work, and service to the university and community. Dakota State has enhanced the Human Performance Lab to include a Woodway Desmo treadmill, Parvo True 1 metabolic cart, LIDO isokinetic dynamometer as well as body composition, flexibility and pulmonary function testing instruments.
