Job Summary

The Operations Manager - IT will exercise considerable judgement and technical expertise and provide specialized support services by developing and maintaining campus standards and life cycles for desktops, laptops, printers and computer accessories across three campuses of Georgia Southern University. The position coordinates and leads vendor relations for Information Technology hardware and software. The Operations Manager - IT is also responsible for working with other IT departments to identify, recommend, and develop cost-effective solutions and to ensure the technical review of IT acquisitions.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as point of contact for IT procurement for three campuses to ensure adherence to Board of Regents and DOAS policies
  • Continual evaluation and assessment of campus computer and peripheral standards
  • Ensure proactive communication to campus community regarding all IT purchasing guidelines and requirements
  • Coordinate and lead vendor relations to include tracking vendor model road map, negotiations and communicating issues
  • Assist with maintaining software and hardware maintenance contracts
  • Assist with campus mobile device purchases
  • Serve as the IT equipment asset inventory custodian and facilitate annual asset inventory


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience


Proposed Salary

$21.34 - $27.21 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
  • Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate financial reports and documents to develop financial dashboards and prepare forecasting reports for budget planning
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure information sensitive in nature
  • Ability to monitor, collect and analyze data and prepare key financial metrics

KNOWLEDGE
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Considerable experience specifically relating to Information Technology procurement and contract administration
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals and services across the Windows and Macintosh operating systems
  • Working knowledge of mobile devices

SKILLS
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Adept at financial data analysis and tracking
  • Considerable numerical, mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills
