POSITION TITLE:  Development Associate

REPORTS TO:  Chief Development Officer

ABOUT NO ONE LEFT BEHIND:

No One Left Behind is the leading national organization evacuating America’s allies from Afghanistan and helping them resettle in the United States. Since 2021, No One Left Behind has evacuated more than 4,500 of America’s allies from Afghanistan. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Development Associate is responsible for all administrative aspects of development activities at No One Left Behind. The Associate is an innovative and energetic professional capable of implementing a multi-year stewardship strategy.

The Development Associate plays an important role by providing administrative support to the development department. The Development Associate will participate in all fundraising activities including: donor relations, stewardship, major gifts, the sustainer program, direct mail campaigns, and special events. The Development Associate will be responsible for management, upkeep, and improvement of No One Left Behind's supporter database and customer relationship manager. 

This is a new position. The Development Associate should expect to collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Director as well as other staff at No One Left Behind. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

    Develops and implements a donor stewardship plan that quicky acknowledges and stewards all gifts Deepens relationships - engages donors with a strong emphasis on identifying potential major gifts Coordinates and oversees the grant agreement process Assures donor intent is followed and ensures donor funds are spent appropriately. Works with the Communications Director to develop and release reports Regularly informs donors about the impact of their gifts. Develops and manages a donor acknowledgement system  Ensures customer relationship manager (CRM) remains up-to-date Directly and through NOLB colleagues, identifies opportunities to engage emerging donors including but not limited to individuals, foundations, and other prospects Coordinates with appropriate departments to draft applications and letters of intent  that reflect NOLB resource needs Collaborates with Communications Director to develop digital and print communication opportunities to connect with donors Assists Communications Director with reporter data management & earned media database Provides Communications Director feedback on communication and marketing projects as needed Other duties and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

    Fast-learning and adaptable  Bachelor’s degree Ability to compose professional level correspondence and meet deadlines with excellent proofreading skills and command of language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. High proficiency in project management, attention to detail, prioritization of work and organization.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

    Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must be able to develop interpersonal relationships with multiple constituents. Demonstrates integrity, ethical conduct, initiative, enthusiasm, and credibility. Demonstrate commitment and ability to:
      Provide quality customer service Plan, organize and remain accountable for actions Problem-solve utilizing critical thinking skills Able to operate with discretion and confidentiality when required Collaborates productively with other staff

This is a hybrid-work position. 

Salary $65,000 annually with health benefits.
