The College of Education at Mississippi State University is seeking a Director of the Early Childhood Institute to begin July 1, 2014. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in early childhood education or a closely related field from an accredited university relevant to the mission of the Early Childhood Institute, with research and scholarly accomplishments, and with demonstrated administrative experience and proven leadership in the field of early childhood education directly related to the duties as listed in the job description. Responsibilities: provide dynamic and innovative leadership in research-based practices and policy recommendations that promote high quality early childhood development and learning for all young children in Mississippi; plan, develop, and implement the projects of the Institute with direct responsibility for overseeing early childhood research activities, providing professional development and technical assistance services, and securing program resources/revenue; serve as a liaison between the Institute and the general University as well as with external stakeholders.
