The University of Virginia School of Law seeks an Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Registrar to direct and manage all functions of the student records office. The Assistant Dean will oversee course registration, the administration of exams, the enforcement of academic policies, and the management of student records for over 1000 students, 80 full-time faculty members, and 100 visiting and adjunct instructors. The Assistant Dean reports to the Vice Dean and works closely with other assistant deans in student affairs, career services, and information technology. The Assistant Dean is responsible for implementing academic policies and regulations regarding enrollment, class scheduling, exams, graduation, and related activities. The Assistant Dean also produces curricular information and creates the Law Schools class schedule, including room assignments and class meeting times. The Assistant Dean supervises a staff of three.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree required; graduate degree preferred. At least five years of experience in higher education in a student services function—or an equivalent level of professional experience—is strongly preferred. The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management ability; be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a service-oriented environment; have extensive knowledge of information technology and its application in an educational setting; have effective organizational skills and a keen attention to detail; and bring strong interpersonal skills to a team-oriented and collegial environment.
