Sr. Manager of Operations & Student Experience, Executive MBA

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented leader to assume the Sr. Manager, Operations & Student Experience, Executive MBA role. In this key position, you will oversee the operational aspects of the University of Utah's top-20 Executive MBA program to enhance the overall student experience. The successful candidate will manage various aspects of student services, ensure seamless coordination, and support faculty, students, and alumni.

Responsibilities
1. Student Support:
  • Own the success of all events and class days, counsel and advise students on academic success, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and engagement.
  • Provide comprehensive support to students, addressing concerns, and facilitating a positive student experience.
  • Supervise program staff and oversee all associated activities. Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information regarding academic policies, program requirements, and resources. Manage student enrollment, registration, and graduation processes.



2. Program Operations:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of student services to ensure efficient program delivery.
  • Manage logistics for student events, class days, international trips, orientation, and intensive weeks, fostering a sense of community among students.
  • Manage the relationship with faculty members to ensure we provide high-level support and timely course materials and resources delivery.
  • Monitor program budgets and expenses, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.

3. Communication and Outreach:
  • Serve as a visible leader for the program, both internally and externally.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to inform students about program updates, events, and services.
  • Collaborate with admissions and marketing teams to enhance program visibility and student engagement.

4. Data Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of student information, academic progress, and service interactions.
  • Generate reports on student retention, engagement, feedback, and other relevant metrics to inform program improvements, drive program rankings, and ensure student satisfaction.

5. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
  • Work closely with faculty, academic departments, and other stakeholders to design and enhance the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure a seamless transition for incoming students.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in program management.

6. Alumni Relations:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with program alumni.
  • Implement initiatives to engage alumni in program activities, networking opportunities, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of assigned department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department.

Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

Preferences
  • Applicants with experience working with MBA programs or an MBA degree from the David Eccles School of Business and a good rapport with faculty members will receive top priority.
  • Applicants must be willing to work on alternating Saturdays to oversee class days.
  • A strong understanding of the specifics of delivering a high-quality MBA program and the needs of working executives.
  • A personable attitude and a willingness to engage with students and shape their experience.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking abilities.

Work Schedule Summary: Monday through Friday, and alternating Saturdays are required to support student class days (Friday and Saturday every other week) and occasional evenings for recruiting or student events.This job is considered “essential.” Therefore, it is required that the employee work on campus, in person.
