For leadership of our residential college system, Yale-NUS College seeks outstanding teacher-scholars who are eager to devote their energies to the academic, personal, and social development of undergraduate students. All students will live in one of Yale- NUSs three residential colleges, each of which will house approximately 330 undergraduates. The Rector generates interest in, and enthusiasm for, the residential life of the college. Successful candidates for the position
of Rector will have established academic records suitable for appointment as Professor or Associate Professor with tenure in one of the academic divisions of Yale-NUS College. Experience in student affairs or college administration is desirable. The Rector will devote considerable time and energy to student affairs and will hold the research and teaching duties of a senior faculty member of Yale-NUS College half-time. Candidates of comparable distinction with non-academic backgrounds will also be considered.
The Vice-Rector provides academic and personal counseling to undergraduates in the residential college; administers college functions, including housing and extracurricular activities; serves on Yale-NUS College committees; and teaches one or two courses per year. Successful candidates for the position of vice-rector will have advanced degrees (Ph.D. or equivalent) and will be appointed as lecturer in one of the academic divisions of Yale-NUS College.
