Dean/Business: Arcadia University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean, School of Global Business. Located just outside Philadelphia in Glenside, Pennsylvania, Arcadia is a top-ranked private university offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. For the past five years, the Institute of International Education has ranked Arcadia University #1 for the percentage of undergraduate students participating in a study abroad experience of master's level schools. In 2011, the American Council on Education honored Arcadia by naming the university as one of eight universities in the country to participate in a program focused on integrating international and domestic diversity. Students in The School of Global Business gain firsthand experience in the global marketplace. Undergraduate students conduct internships in the U.S. and overseas and some majors require a semester or year abroad and may include modern language proficiency. MBA students complete two international experiences, traveling to businesses in an emerging economy and in a developed economy. The business school has programs abroad and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from an accredited graduate institution in one of the major disciplines represented in the School of Global Business; a record of university teaching, scholarship, and service sufficient to warrant an appointment as a tenured professor in the School; at least five years of successful administrative experience in higher education at the level of department chair or higher; and detailed knowledge and experience with student learning outcomes assessment and ACBSP and/or AACSB accreditation. The ideal candidate will have the following: a strong commitment to shared governance, global business education, and cultural diversity; a collegial leadership style that fosters collaborative working relations with faculty, students, staff, alumni and others; teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and a demonstrated commitment to delivering programs in various formats. The Dean is responsible for recruiting and retaining qualified faculty; leading the faculty in strategic planning; working with enrollment management to recruit and retain talented students; partnering with the School of Continuing Studies to extend programs to nontraditional populations; establishing ties with the business community; working with the administration and institutional advancement to acquire resources; and managing the staff, budget, and resources of the School. The Dean reports to the Provost/Vice-President of Academic Affairs and is a member of the Deans Council and other administrative governing bodies. The School of Global Business has been identified by the Administration for significant growth.
