The School of Safety, Security and Emergency Management in the Eastern Kentucky University College of Justice and Safety seeks to hire a collegial and dedicated colleague who enjoys teaching and working with students to fill a 9-month, tenure track position in Emergency Management to begin August 15, 2014. Responsibilities include classroom and online undergraduate and graduate instruction; research and scholarship; and service to the profession, community and university. Faculty members normally teach four (4) courses per semester, advise students and engage in research and professional activities. A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent international institution is required. Applicants ABD and within 1 year of their doctorate may be considered. Substantial relevant professional experience is preferred. Expertise in emergency management with an emphasis in preparedness and response is preferred. Prior successful college and/or professional instruction, preparation in teaching and learning, documented research, active professional engagement and congenial team-oriented attitudes are valued credentials.
