This new initiative will offer a series of workshops, seminars and customized courses for professionals and organizations in a variety of subjects, including strategic communications, digital media and media relations. As an extension of the groundbreaking work of GWs School of Media and Public Affairs, our program focuses on informing, organizing and persuading in the digital age. In fact, with a fully functioning television studio, state-of-the-art video equipment, editing suites, and digital media expertise, we are able to blend cutting-edge research with real-world application in ways most programs cannot, ultimately providing exceptional opportunities to learn and produce in a hands-on environment. The Marketing Specialist will help to develop and execute the marketing and promotional plans and collaborate with the Director of Executive Education and the SMPA marketing function to launch marketing initiatives to increase awareness of this exciting program, generate enrollments and build the business.
Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience working in a higher education or professional development environment
Experience working with Washington DC political and government institutions and agencies
Some exposure to and experience with business and prospect development, in person and by phone.
Familiarity with course development and learning design in higher education or another training/professional development capacity.
Experience with video editing (Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro preferred.)
